The detail

About this one

The one for a normal town garden.

Not everybody has an acre. The Q105 is the smallest of the range and it is built for the garden most people actually have — up to 500 m², reasonably flat, a shed and a washing line to work around. It does the same trick as its bigger brothers for a good deal less money.

It still finds its own way

The RockNeo Q105 mapping a lawn on its own

Satellite positioning with camera backup, the same system the bigger machines use. An antenna goes up somewhere with a clear view of the sky, it drives the garden once to learn the shape of it, and after that it works in tidy lines rather than bouncing about. No boundary wire to bury.

It will squeeze through a gap as narrow as 70 cm, which matters more in a small garden than in a big one — that is the passage down the side of most houses.

Around the garden

  • It looks before it goes. Cameras spot toys, tools and wildlife and it steers around them rather than nudging into them. Lift it or tip it and the blades stop dead.
  • The quietest one we sell. 59 dB — about the level of a conversation across a kitchen table.
  • Slopes to 45%. Rear-wheel drive — grand on a normal lawn with a bit of a rise in it. If your ground is steep or soft, look at the Z115 instead.
  • Height set by hand. 20 to 60 mm, with a dial on the machine rather than from the app. It is the one thing you give up against the S115, and in practice it is a job you do twice a year.

Out at night, and out in the rain

The RockNeo Q105 parked during quiet hours to avoid disturbing wildlife

You can set quiet hours so it stays on the dock while the hedgehogs are about. They come out at dusk, which is exactly when an unattended mower is likely to be working, so it is worth setting on the day you get it — we will do it with you at the counter.

The RockNeo Q105 sensing rain and returning to its dock

Rain is not a problem either. It feels the weather turning, takes itself home and waits, and the whole machine is rated IPX6 — so when it is caked after a wet week you can rinse it down with the hose.

The numbers

  • Covers up to 500 m² at 65 m² an hour
  • Cuts 22 cm wide, 20–60 mm high, three blades
  • 4 Ah battery — about 100 minutes mowing, about 95 minutes to charge
  • Full-band RTK with camera backup · rear-wheel drive · slopes to 45% · climbs 4 cm
  • Up to 15 zones, each with its own schedule
  • 59 dB · IPX6 with rain sensing · 12.2 kg
  • Alarm and PIN lock as standard; 4G tracking is an optional module

Is it enough?

If the lawn is under 500 m² and reasonably level, yes — and we would rather sell you this than talk you into something bigger. Past that, or if the ground is hilly, the S115 and Z115 are the next steps up. Ring us with a rough size and we will tell you straight.
