Warranty & support

Three years on the main unit — wheel hub motors, PCBA and charging station — and two years on the battery, from Roborock.

We handle the claim for you. Bring it back to the shop rather than posting it off to a service centre in another country, and ring us on 089 411 6625 first — a fair share of things get sorted on the phone.

The detail

About this one

If cutting your grass currently costs you a Saturday, this is the one that gives it back.

The Z150 is the top of the range and it is bought for one reason above all others: throughput. It covers 5,000 m² — an acre and a quarter — and it works at 250 m² an hour, which is half again as fast as either of its smaller brothers. This is the machine that replaces a ride-on, not a push mower.

The maths of a big lawn

The RockMow Z150 working across a large open lawn

Worth doing the sum before you spend the money. At 250 m² an hour, an acre of grass is roughly sixteen hours of mowing — but spread across a week, unattended, in shifts it schedules itself. The 10 Ah battery runs for about 200 minutes before it goes home, and refills in about 60. So it works for well over three hours, rests an hour, and goes again — and the lawn is simply never long.

That is the real change. It is not that the grass gets cut faster on the day. It is that it stops being a job that has to be found time for.

Getting in around things

The RockMow Z150 turning tightly around a garden feature

Big gardens are rarely empty. There are specimen trees, island beds, a rotary line, a swing set. A machine that has to swing wide to turn leaves a ring of long grass around each of them and you end up finishing by hand — which rather defeats the point.

All three four-wheel-drive machines use the same active steering system, so they work their way in around an obstacle and come back out cleanly rather than circling it. On a garden this size that adds up: a dozen trees and beds is a dozen rings of long grass you are not going out to deal with. If you want it neater still along walls and kerbs, the PreciEdge module takes it to within about 3 cm of a hard edge.

Precision across distance

It uses the same full-band RTK positioning as the Z130 — a fixed antenna at the house as a reference, giving centimetre accuracy — with camera-based navigation taking over under tree cover. Over an acre and a quarter that accuracy is not a luxury; it is what stops the machine drifting and leaving strips. Up to 15 zones, each scheduled separately, which on a garden this size is how you keep the lawn near the house sharp and let the far end grow on.

Four-wheel drive with the same 80% climbing ability as the others, and IPX6 weatherproofing with rain and frost sensors.

A machine that lives outdoors

The RockMow Z150 detecting an obstacle in its path

This is a valuable thing sitting on your lawn unattended, so it is worth knowing what protects it. There is a movement alarm, a PIN lock, live GPS tracking and AirTag compatibility, and the 4G connection comes with three years included — so it stays contactable well beyond the reach of the house WiFi and you can see where it is from anywhere.

Obstacle detection works the same way as the rest of the range: it identifies what is in front of it and routes around, rather than finding it with the bumper. Lift or tilt it and the blades stop.

Come and see it before you buy it

The finish left by the RockMow Z150 on a large lawn

We would genuinely rather you did. It is a serious piece of kit and fifteen minutes watching one work on the demo lawn tells you more than any amount of reading. We will map your garden with you, set the zones and the schedule before it leaves, and get the antenna sited properly — on a garden this size that last part matters.

Who actually buys this one

People with an acre or more, usually with a ride-on they are tired of. Guesthouses and small hotels. A couple of GAA clubs. If your lawn is under three-quarters of an acre the Z130 will do the same job for less money, and we will tell you so — ring us with the size and we will work it out with you.
